People have been speaking about the possibility that, in other countries, the people stand during the Consecration at Latin Rite Masses.

Maybe someone could be so kind as to give us a specific example of an authorized priviledge in another country or religious order that allows the ordinary faithful to stand during the Consecration.

The only possible exception I can think of would be in asian countries, where the faithful might be allowed to stand. But even then, I’m sure they would be required to bow at the moment of Consecration.

I believe the normative posture during the Eucharistic prayer in countries around the world is standing with kneeling from the epiclesis until after the consecration of the precious blood. The US bishops (believe it or not) got a special permission from Rome to kneel from the end of the Sanctus until after the final doxology and during the ecce agnus dei

I believe the original poster stated that they stand “during the consecration.” That is what my specific question was aimed at.

I am aware of the general posture for the Eucharistic Prayer as a whole, but I don’t know of ANY bishops conference that has permitted standing for the CONSECRATION by way of indult.

In South America, they kneel from after the Sanctus and rise after the Memorial Acclimation, in my experience. It is pretty much the same in Europe, again in my limited experience. I gather from hearing and reading comments made by Cardinal Arinze that in Africa, they kneel for the Consecration as well.

Anyone know about Austraila or Asia? Not just do the tend to stand but do they have Vatican permission to stand during the Consecration itself?
