Questions about the Missionaries of Charity

I heard from someone that they only go home once every ten years, and aren’t allowed to have any pictures of their family? Is this true?

Im asking b/c the mission of the order and the strict vows of poverty appeal to me, but unless I am 100% sure this is where God is calling me, I don’t think I could go a whole decade without ever seeing my family.

I think the MCs themselves should answer that question. I know they are very austere, but have never heard of such a restriction on visitation.

I’m guessing life will be quite different for their active and contemplative branches. Contact the group you are most interested in and ask them directly.
