Questions and opinion on "Mud" with Matthew Ma

I’ve heard that the premise is,in the American South,two boys “grow up fast” (or something along the “coming of age” lines) when they’re harboring a fugitive Matthew McConaughey.

Sounds like a nice twist on a crime drama movie but when I read the wikipedia entry^1 it said that there’s a part where a woman who is with another man is pushed down a staircase and miscarries as a result.I’m wondering and would like to know how much of an impetus was that in the movie?. Was it done with that intention and was it brought it frequently?.I’m not sure if I should watch it b/c of that.

If anyone’s seen the movie please feel free to talk about what you thought about it.

^1 I do that for a lot of movies partly to save money a/o time

I don’t remember the movie that well but I think the woman being pushed down the stairs thing was just mentioned once to emphasize the fact that the character who did it was really no good.
