This past weekend, our parish hosted a priest who heads a mission (in Brazil, I think, not sure). This priest heard confessions. When I confessed an act of impurity (okay, my DH wanted some, I didn’t, I “took care” of him and then went to bed, end of story
), he replied that as long as we don’t use our bodies to hurt, abuse or harm our spouses, we shouldn’t worry too much–after all, who made our bodies? God did, of course.
I always thought that acts of impurity were mortal sins and therefore needed to be confessed, so I think he advised me wrong. So the question is, was my confession valid? I’m guessing yes, but wanted to check with you guys. . . ?
