Quitting Smoking

[MilesVitae]

I’m going to try to quit smoking - though, as the saying goes, quitting isn’t the hard part - I’ve quit smoking plenty of times!

Anyway, prayers, please, that I stick with it this time

Thanks

Prayer for stopping Smoking

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Through the grace of your purity, may this unclean habit cease.

From the stench of smoke, the foul taste in my mouth, the stains on my hands and teeth, pray for my release.
Hail Mary . . .

From coughing and phlegm, from polluted blood, from heart and lung disease, pray for my release.
Hail Mary . . .

From habit and slavery, pray for my release.
Hail Mary . . .

From tension, fear, and anxiety, pray for my release.
Hail Mary . . .

For health and calm and peace, pray for me.
Hail Mary . . .

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that, by Christ redeemed, we choose to live in purity.
Amen.

God bless you in your efforts to give up smoking.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

†

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I never smoked but plenty of my friends do. It is so hard they tell me almost impossible. You have my prayers for success You can do it!

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen.

You CAN do it! It’s hard but with the Grace of Almighty God, you CAN.

Had been a heavy smoker for 40 years but have used only electronic cigs since Oct.2012 - yes a ‘cop out’ I know, but I use them like a dummy! They are worth a try.
You need strong motivation. For me, it was moving to a new home and starting a new life.

May Our Lord bless you with His strength and wrap you in His love.

I will be praying for all smokers who want to quit, including myself, but who are having a hard time with it. God bless, and peace be with you.
