A friend showed me this link to the Rainbow Sash Movement and says they intend to go to Churches and Cathedrals across the US and receive the Holy Sacrament of the Eucharist, on May 15, 2005, to openly protest the Church’s refusal to accept sodomy and homosexuality.

What do you think about that? Do you think there will be such a protest at your Church? Do you think that anyone who openly professes homosexuality, in open defiance of the Church should receive the Precious Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ?
What, if anything, would you do if that happens at your Parish? If you were an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion or an usher, what would you do?

My Cardinal (Francis Cardinal George of Chicag) has in the past refused communion to the rainbow sash protesters at Mass because by wearing the sash they proclaim their dissent from the Church.

If I were an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion based on the directive of Cardinal George and my own understanding of Canon Law, I would refuse them communion. I think I would be allowed to do that under Canon Law 815.

I would do what the Church expects me to do. I would not distribute Christ into defiant hands.

If they are willing to openly defy why are we so slow to openly defend??
