My “heart” was converted to Catholicism initially on June 27, 2010. 😉 The real change is occurring now, and I believe He is preparing me for April 24. As things of the mind and soul go, my conversion was at the age of 21 (being 22 now), unless you mean by baptism.

The Holy Spirit led me to be Catholic in my heart and soul at the age of 8 or 9. My parents were against the Catholic Church and were part of TEC. I remember setting up a small shrine in my closet with statues and candles given to me by a little friend.

Due to my personal situation my family converted in 1988 through the Anglican Use.

Some people might not believe that at such a young age with no real knowledge of what it meant to be Catholic, that a child can know they are Catholic, I must assume that it was through the grace of the Holy Spirit that I was led to the Church.

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

I was 33 when I completed RCIA.

The long and short of it is.

I was baptized Catholic but never confirmed. I left when my mother did when I was a infant. Was raised a Baptist. Left the Baptist Church when I was in my late teens and became a lost soul. I came to the LCMS in my late twenties. I felt empty and then had a problem with the congregation I was attending. Searched and prayed. Then here I am a couple of years latter. Happy I waided in drown and finish crossing the Tiber.

I was 63 when I converted, about 4 months ago. I have watched EWTN, especially The Journey Home since 2005 and was touch at the struggles that many went through to come to the knowledge of the truth in the Catholic Church.

When I came to believe the Catholic teachings concerning the Eucharist everything fell into place. I was Free Will Baptist when I was much younger but I always felt something was missing. Now I know what was missing and I found it in the RCC.

I’m 15 years old and going through the RCIT process this year. Though I was born a Methodist, I found myself turning away from God as I got older, simply because nothing in the Methodist church spoke to me on a spiritual level. It felt as though we were going through the motions every Sunday; there was no reverence in the service. Eventually I stopped going to church altogether, and burned through a series of Eastern religions and ‘alternative faith paths’ in an attempt to find something that suited me.

I stuck with Taoism for several years, but a few months ago I just felt the urge to attend a Catholic mass. I now understand this was the Holy Spirit working through me. I had been doing some research into Catholicism, out of academic interest, but nothing I read could prepare me for the reality of the mass. It was a more reverent and sacred and pure experience than I could have imagined. Further research and a great deal of prayer carried me into the church again and again until Ash Wednesday, with a cross of ashes imposed on my forehead, I formally decided to convert.

Long story short, I love Catholicism and I can’t wait to become a confirmed member of the Church!

36 years old … and oddly I was not fully converted in my heart when I convert. I still had doubts …

And I was shocked, shocked, shocked by what descended on me that night of confirmation … the joy.

And ever since the joy that I did this … by His Grace …

I just feel like adding - there are some inspiring stories in this thread. Thank you to those who posted.

It serves to renew my faith that the light shines in the darkness.

In the darkness of this secular world, bent on falsifying, distorting the Faith, people DO discover the Church …

Gives me hope …
