There isn’t really a definitive list. Having said that, clearly a mortal sin is more serious than a venial sin. Generally I think its fair to say that sins that involve doing or not doing something are more serious than merely thinking about something. Sins that affect others, particularly in bringing others into a sinful act, are usually going to be more sinful than sins that do not. This is just logic really.

Just curious about what people’s thoughts are on this.
Catechism of the Catholic Church
1854 Sins are rightly evaluated according to their gravity. The distinction between mortal and venial sin, already evident in Scripture,129 became part of the tradition of the Church. It is corroborated by human experience.

Dante’s Divine Comedy places people in Hell based on the sins they committed, with explanations of the increasing gravity as you go deeper.

Purgatorio continues with a climb up the seven story mountain that corresponds to the seven deadly sins.

Paradiso is also structured based on the virtues.

I plan to avoid it all. I just wanted to know so i could confess my past sins in order from worst to least.

Betrayal is the worst sin , hence why Jesus said woe to the one who betrays him for it would be better for him had he never been born.

Bishop Barron pointed out betrayal is the worst since it is the most “spiritually refined” where unlike lust where the body takes over the spirit, with betrayal there is a very conscious and deliberate act to hurt those who are close to us.

Do you best not to sin, if you do then go to confession, and then go out and try to sin no more. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I emailed my RCIA director and she is going to ask Fr. Gerald if he would hear my confession and book an appointment for it so he will have time to give me spiritual guidance as well.
