Hi all. I am coordinating our parish RCIA praogram this year and amwondering if anyone has advice on combining the Rites of Welcoming and Acceptance. Thanks for your help! Blessings!

The baptized who are NOT dismissed from the liturgy of the Eucharist and the Catechumens who are.

study the ritual book and let it be your guide, don’t try to come up with ad hoc rituals that are not prescribed. Don’t try to force your entire group through rites that do not properly belong to them. Make sure the distinction between the baptized and the catechumens is carefully explained in class and preserved in the rites.

No problem, we always do. See the Combined Rite, paragraphs 505 - 521, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults [the White Book].

As puzzleannie notes, be careful to observe the distinctions, spelled out there, between the two groups. We process in and seat them on opposite sides of the main aisle. We sign each group separately with the sign of the cross [paragraphs 514-515 and 517-518] but combine them for the signing of the senses [paragraphs 516 and 519]. his doesn’t seem to diminish the differentiation, and it keeps the mass on schedule [and the pastor happy].
