I have a question. Can a person attending RCIA that is currently pregnant still be confirmed if they aren’t married? Since deciding to come back to Christ I have made a vow of celibacy, but I recently found out I was pregnant. I want to know should I stop attending RCIA, I would of course tell them why.

No one is barred from attending RCIA formation. To participate in each Rite, there may be some items to work thru. In private, discuss with RCIA director and priest. Peace be with you

How wonderful to have a baby! Even when the situation is not ideal, a baby is a precious miracle.

If you are committing to chastity and living out Church teaching, then I don’t see a problem at all. Talk to your priest and the RCIA coordinators. I’m sure they can help you with resources, too if you need.

God bless you!

Keep attending. Make an appointment with your priest. I don’t believe there is any impediment that can’t be worked out in time. Fear not. Be bold and continue on your journey.

Yes, you can still be confirmed. If the pregnancy is the result of a sinful act (as opposed to having occurred while you were married to someone), you should go to Confession, assuming you have been baptized.

Thank you all for your (name removed by moderator)ut. I felt in my spirit everything will be okay, but I did not know the churches stance. I’ll will speak to them tomorrow at our advent retreat. God bless you all!
