Hello,

I’m not sure if this is the right forum to post this, or if anybody can help, but here goes.

My husband and I have decided to go through RCIA to join the Catholic Church. The problem is that he’s deploying to Iraq in a little over a week. 😦 Should he just wait until he comes back next year, or is there some possible way for him to do this over there? I bought each of us a Catechism, and I bought him a small New American Bible to take with him.

He probably will have to wait until he returns, but does anyone know any different?

Thanks! 🙂

In the US all military are assigned to the “Military Diocese” of the United States no matter where they are stationed in the world. It might be possible for him to speak with and study with a Catholic chaplin while stationed there. At least he can attend Mass when it is offered.

He will probably have to “make” the time, but there will be opportunity for him. There is most certainly a Priest he can meet with, and there will be other Catholics who would be greatful to help out…
