Hi,

Interested in finding out more about Catholicism and would be keen to start a period of enquiry.

Does anyone know by any chance whereabouts in the West Midlands, UK that I can do this?

I live in Wolverhampton near Cannock, but spend a significant amount of time in Birmingham so either would be handy.

Thanks in anticipation

Go to your local Catholic Church. If there’s not one near where you live, visit one near your work. You can find them with a google search. Go to mass on Sunday to see what the church is like. If you like the church, call the office and ask about RCIA classes.

Thanks for the reply,

Already been and spoken to a friendly local priest a few months ago, just needed some time to think about things and life has been kind of hectic with work. Might sound silly but not quite sure I’m ready to go to church yet, but sure my girlfriend (a Catholic) will be more than happy to take me when I do feel ready, but I’d like the opportunity to learn more and feel the RCIA would be a good start to decide if this is the right path for me. Just wondered if anyone had any info on it in my area, guess I’m just being a bit lazy, I know exactly who to see to find out and will do so later this week.

🙂

Hi,

Also, if you go on the web site for the Catholic Church In England and Wales, you should find some links that will help you to find out what is available in your local area.

If you are anywhere near to Walsall, I know that they are starting a “Come and See” course next week - at St Mary’s The Mount.

Its a bit less formal than the RCIA, but will lead onto this if you want to later on.

I can find out the times and contat details if you want!

Good luck in your search!
😃

Hi Suzle,

That sounds great, happen to work in Walsall, away this weekend but would be interested in the “Come and See” course, don’t suppose you know when/what time it is do you?

Had a look on the website but no info it seems

👍

Hello there Coefficient!

What a small world!!!

I live in sunny Bloxwich! I will find out the time and let you know - will post a reply tomorrow (need to txt my friend, cos I can’t remember the details and I know he will have them!). You can always come and join us at St Peter’s in Bloxwich anytime - we are a friendly congregation and we have a lovely priest, Fr Robert.

Never been to St Mary’s, been to St Patricks a couple of times, cos they do an evening sunday mass if you are ever stuck and can’t get to the saturday vigil or sunday morning mass.

Fr Harrington is very nice - a very holy man!

God bless - will let you know as soon as George txts back!

Sue:)

It is a small world! I live in Essington.

Thanks very much Suzle, very kind of you.

Hello!

Essington is very close!

The “Come and See” course is 1 Oct at 8pm at St Mary’s The Mount.

Good luck - hope that you find all that you are seeking within the faith, and if you do want to try out St Peters, please do come along!
