I am intersted in becoming Catholic and I have a couple of questions. I am 23 and recently got married to a Catholic. I was married before and got divorced. My questions are will being divorced prevent me from becoming Catholic? And does the RICA program only start at certian times of the year? Thank you for reading and hopefully responding.

You will need to talk to a priest about your previous marriage to see if you will need to seek an annulment. Re: RCIA, some parishes run RCIA year around while others start in the Fall and end at Easter Vigil when the candidates are brought into the Church. Hope this helps.

Peace,
Linda

You and your Catholic husband need to make an appointment with a Priest ASAP. Your Catholic husband should discontinue receiving sacraments until the appointment.

Thank you for your help! We are going to make an appointment to see our priest tomorrow! Thanks again!

get the ball rolling on the marriage issue before you start RCIA class. Year round RCIA is ideal, but it is hard to get people to commit to it. if you start now in my parish, if all went well you would be ready to enter the Church at Easter 2006. A key point is when it comes to RCIA “it takes as long as it takes” it is not necessarily a linear progression of classes, then boom you are ready. the sooner you start the sooner you make progress. welcome.

Just curious but it’s been some time since you posted this thread, how are you doing so far? Have there been any speed bumps or road blocks, are you in a RCIA class?
