I am completing RCIA and have to select a saint for confirmation.

I was baptised a Catholic, I cannot tell if I was named for Thomas the Apostle or Thomas Becket or Thomas Moore as they both had movies out near when I was born.

Does anyone have any sagely advice for me?

What is something that you have a particular affinity for?

I can’t think of one either. I’ve been looking through some of the information on the saints, and either there isn’t a patron saint for something that is near and dear to me, or it’s a male saint, and I really don’t want a man’s name.

I will keep looking, I’m bound to find something that clicks. Although time is ticking down…

You signature quote (“Because He hath regarded the humility of His handmaid; for behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For He that is mighty hath done great things to me.”) suggests your patron should be the Saint of Saints, Mary Herself!!! 👍

Thomas Aquinas - Maybe the greatest Doctor of the Church.
Ignatius of Loyola - Founder of Jesuits and Universities.

I searched and haven’t been able to find this:

I think I see an untapped business opportunity, kinda like the computer matchmaking services.
An RCIA candidate simply fills out a multi-page compatibility questionnaire and it is submitted to the computer who which spits out the “perfect” spiritual match.

I dunno why no one has thought of it, great for new parents, too. Wish I knew programming better, but then, life would be even LESS worth living!!! (I’m logging 60+ hours a week on a computer conversion project at work).

Buy yourself a pack of saint cards, and just read though some random ones every once in a while. That’s how I found my patroness.
