Hello,

I just wanted to comment. I went to my first RCIA class last night. It was great! Infact, I can’t really call it a class because it was more like a meeting. I am very, very excited. Yeah!

Oh, and the RCIA leaders are looking into getting my daughter baptised before her seventh birthday. It seems like after the age of seven things get a little more difficult. SHe will be seven very soon-this July. So, I will have to see how that goes.

Like Bart Simpson says: “THe Catholic Church rocks!!”😃

Deb1 welcome to the beginning of a wonderful journey. Our class just finished after meeting weekly (sometimes more) since September. We already miss our meetings!

Congratulations Deb and welcome to the Church. i completed my RCIA and Baptisim when i was 20 years old. it was the best decision i ever made. my husband who was my boyfriend at the time went three months later and finished his. Our faith is what keeps us so strong and so in love. Welcome!

Welcome! I just finished RCIA as well - I miss it too!!! You’ll never regret this - it will be the most important thing you ever do! Congrats to you 👍

Congratulations and God Bless you deb1!!! I’ll keep you and yours in my prayers.

I was thinking of you yesterday. Glad it went well for you. Keep us posted on your journey.

God Bless, Paula

I think it varies in each parish/diocese. I think it’s great they’ll get one full year of meetings prior to being received in Easter. I learned so much, and they’ll really have the time to explore so much.

Fortuneatly…our parish runs RCIA all year long…which I think is a great thing, because there are those who are interested before September…and if they are not able to get into RCIA before September, they may lose interest or look into another denomination…therefore I think it is good to have an all-year program to allow people to join at any point and immediately start learning about THe Catholic Church.

I think that’s great. I wish our parish could do that too. RCIA is just skin on the apple. There’s soooo much to learn.

Very, very true…shortly, I am going to begin a Masters in Divinity program…I plan on learning a lot of new stuff and going into great detail in other subjects I am familiar with.

in our parish RCIA is year-round, school year model is appropriate for children, not adults, no need to delay sacraments based on out-moded school board custom that has no relation to the liturgical year.
