My Daughter came into the Church through RCIC. She received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation all in one shot. She was never introduced to the awesome gift of Reconciliation. She has never gone and refuses to go. I know that the ultimate responsibility lies with me, as a parent, but I am concerned that Confession for those who enter through RCIC may not be fully explained or taught. I am trying to impress upon her the beauty of confession and lead by example. Is this a common issue?
Thanks!

People who are being baptized don’t have to go to confession first. Hopefully those directing RCIA or RCIA adapted for children teach about the need for the sacrament after baptism and how to go to confession.

It’s too bad if no one taught your daughter about it. She’s lucky to have you available as a guide.

Your daughter came into the Catholic Church through RCIA for children. You do not mention her age. So I will make a general comment. If she was lets say 9 years old she should have from that point been placed in the age appropriate Faith Formation process with the other children her age and also should have been placed in the proper Sacramental preparation program for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. She should then be presented with the opportunity to receive this Sacrament of Reconciliation with those her age.

If she was older say 14. Then she sould have been invited to the discussion of the Sacrament of Reconciliation in the normal RCIA process.

This should never replace you role as her primary Sacramental preparation teacher.
