I have come across the Catholic Answers Forum and noticed some conversation about a book I’ve written entitled: The Seal: A Priest’s Story.It would be best for me to clarify. The series of questions concerns the subject matter of the book and whether it was appropriate for me to write on the topic or not. To begin with, the foreword is written by Francis Cardinal George, Archbishop of Chicago and President of the American Catholic Bishops Conference. Obviously, this esteemed leader in our country did not feel I was wrong in writing the story. To be precise, the true story is not about the confession of the jailed inmate but about the significance of the violation in the secret taping. I respected the seal throughout the writing (hence the name of the book) and was careful to create, through true events, a compelling story that is an important read for Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
