Reading the Bible: What Book Right Now

What book should I read? I want to read Maccabees 1&2 and maybe a book of prophecy during Advent. But what should I read right now? I already read the USSCB readings often. But I desire more scripture especially on Sundays when I get the daily readings read to me at Mass. What would you recommend in addition to Acts, which I already am reading?

Read John! Beginning of Luke is good for Advent! Psalms are good too!
 
The Psalms are the most quoted in the Mass – every Mass I think. I think they are quoted the most in the New Testament, too. They start off with more laments and, roughly speaking, progress to more and more psalms of praise – a good way to end the liturgical year.
