I’m in RCIA. Since I am not yet thoroughly Holy I still watch a fair amount of TV. I don’t know if you like to watch Reality TV shows like me. Some of them are interesting.

Anyone who watches “The Batchelor” knows about the powerful moments at the end of each show. The Rose Ceremony. Who is asked to stay? Who is asked to leave? I thought last night about having my own Rose Ceremony. Because today is October 7, Our Lady of the Rosary. So please have a Rose Ceremony and give a rose to Mary today.

During “The Batchelor”, all of the women contestants are striving to have one-on-one time with their batchelor. Because they want love in their lives. Attention all husbands, wives want undivided attention. If your wife loves you, she will sometimes say the words “Pay attention to me.” Similarly, we should behave in a manner that is pleasing to our beloved. We want Jesus and Mary to feel welcome in our hearts and in our homes.

If we are smart, we want Jesus to give us a rose at His Rose Ceremony.

Matthew 25:1-13 (Jesus Speaking) “Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps. Since the bridegroom was long delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight, there was a cry, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins got up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise ones replied, ‘No, for there may not be enough for us and you. Go instead to the merchants and buy some for yourselves.’ While they went off to buy it, the bridegroom came and those who were ready went into the wedding feast with him. Then the door was locked. Afterwards the other virgins came and said, ‘Lord, Lord, open the door for us!’ But he said in reply, ‘Amen, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour.”

JMM,
Beautiful post. Thank you. I will remember this at Adoration tonight.

“The Apprentice” reminds us that God is either going to tell us, “Well done, my good and faithful servant,” or “'You wicked, lazy servant!” (Matthew 25: 21, 26).

Not that I’m saying Donald Trump is God by any stretch of the imagination.
