As a massage therapist, I have wondered how I can let everyone know about the Catholic faith. I specialize in pregnancy massage. I think massage during pregnancy can bring a woman relief from symptoms, relaxation, and closer to the baby growing in her womb. Perhaps offering a Catholic perspective to expectant mothers while receiving massage will renew faith or instill excitement in those who have not yet experienced this joy. What do you think? Any ideas?🙂

When I go for a massage, I usually enjoy it more if I’m not engaged in conversation. It allows me to fully relax.

However, there are ways to share your faith that are subtle and can generate conversation. Have Bible quotes framed on the wall. Put a crucifix over the door. Lay a rosary on the table. Then, if a person is so moved, they will ask you questions and you can answer, telling them what your faith means to you. When they open the door, they are more receptive than when you push your way inside.

You might also pray (silently) to Mary before and/or after the massage, asking her to pray for the health of this mother and her child.

I wouldn’t go into a spiel on Catholic dogma regarding pregnancy. Some will instantly be turned off, stop listening, and tell others not to com to you.

I find that slipping in an unusual belief that people didn’t know Catholics hold can be a good intro into a conversation. In your case like, “You know, in my beliefs, during pregnancy is the only time in a woman’s life when she has two guardian angels; her own, and her baby’s”. Then if they ask what your belief system is you can say Catholic, which leaves them open to ask more, or they can smile, think that’s a nice, beautiful belief, and sit quietly. It’s more of an invitation to then an imposition of the gospel into their lives.

I also like Orchanian’s ideas.

Thank you both for your ideas! I love the idea of having a rosary and a crucifix in the room, as well as the comment about two guardian angels. I will give them a try. Thanks again and God Bless!🙂
