Realizing something was sinful after confession

I go to confession monthly and I realized something I did about 9 months ago was probably sinful. I’ve been to confession multiple times since then. I know I should bring it up in my next confession. From my understanding those sins have been forgiven Since I’ve already been to confession but I just need to bring them up whenever I make my next confession correct? There doesn’t need to be a rush to get to confession. I know if I withheld these sins I would have to but I just didn’t realize they were sins. I just want to make sure I have the correct understanding.

Correct. That sin is already forgiven, since you genuinely forgot and didn’t deliberately withhold it. Just mention it the next time you go.

The correct understanding you need to also consider here is that you can’t have accidentally committed a sin. If you didn’t realize, there’s a significant likelihood that there’s no sin involvement at all.

I’m not suggesting you don’t speak to a priest about it in your next confession, but you might also want to give yourself the added peace of mind.

We are obliged to confess only mortal sins.

If we forget one, we tell the next confession.

But for venial sins there is no obligation to say them now or ever.

I’m talking about obligation, convenience is something else.

Any genuinely forgotten sins when you are at Confession are forgiven but if you subsequently remember then you are obliged to mention them at your next Confession.

Probably sinful? So for mortal, it must be grave matter, you must know it is wrong, you reflected upon it before commission or omission, and then willfully consented to it in thought (even if it went no further).
