Sure, they can walk out the door and not go back. Just like I could have walked out of my last job, where I was miserable.

Of course, I was making $22/hr at a job with excellent benefits, and the only other jobs I could get would take me down to $8/hr and no benefits.

So it depends on what you mean by free. Especially when you have kids to support.
