Reccomended works on Jesuit History

Hello everyone,

I’m doing a research project on the history of Christianity in Japan and I am currently looking for references about the history of the Jesuits. I’m not looking for a reference about Jesuits in Japan specifically, but more of a general history. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?

I’d recommend* The First Jesuits*, by Fr. John W. O’Malley, SJ.
