I hope you were at peace about what to do for this Mass.
Its not a sin to feel angry. Scripture says, “Be angry, but sin not.”
People have good reason to feel angry. Sometimes its a signal you have been trespassed upon in a way you should not. Perhaps your dignity, in this case. Ignoring trespasses is not what we are called to do, but we are called to forgive them. In fact if you don’t acknowledge your own hurt - and anger is a signal that something is amiss, and sometimes you need to sit with it awhile to understand it in yourself - then your forgiveness means little. And if you habitually ignore the trespasses of a habitual trespasser in your life, someone who steps on your dignity regularly, then you are training that person to sin, and you are assisting them in becoming worse in sinning. And that’s not good.
So go ahead and be angry. Just don’t sin. So, you don’t start planning retribution, i.e. Confess you anger to Our Lord and ask Him to give you wisdom to know what to do with it.
We are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. So you can pray for your wife when you are hurting by something she said, and that is an act of charity, or love, the love that you are called to give her. It does not mean you have to feel nice and lovey toward her right after she has offended you. It means acts of love. Like prayers for her.
