So our Bishop has decided reinstate mass. In his pastoral letter he says that reception of the communion DURING the liturgy of the Eucharist will be consumed by the priest only. AFTER mass will the laity be allowed to recieve communion. Is this right and just? To me it doesn’t seem right to receive the most precious body AFTER mass, but that’s just me. Can anyone please comment on this cuz I don’t know what to think.

It’s not only allowed, it’s how communion was distributed for centuries. In the old rite of the Mass, the communion of the people wasn’t even part of the Liturgy. To have it be part of Mass is actually a relatively recent phenomenon.

Of course, this is to say nothing of the fact that we’re in extraordinary circumstances and reasonable accommodations can and should be made.

Think about the people who are home bound and we bring Eucharist to them after Mass. I dont see any difference.

Peace!!!
