my nephew asks, (If I am baptised but not Catholic and I believe in the real presence, why can’t I recieve communion)?

He’s working on it. He is a baptist from Georgia, my brother and I rescued him from there and brought him home but his father (my brother) has barely made a comeback to the CC. I don’t have the capacity to get him to weekly RCIT.If he believes in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, which is made present by the priests through apostolic succession (only in the Catholic Church) then he should become Catholic!
.
But he does believe everything. why can’t he recieve the bread of life?Receiving the Eucharist states that you agree with all the teachings of the Catholic Church. Anyone who does not, such as non-Catholics, should not receive the Eucharist and if they do, they are receiving it in a sacreligious way incurring sins in doing so.
Read #5I am at a loss when I here a non-catholic state they believe in the real presence in one breath and then state the fact that they are not catholic or will never be catholic.
If you have really grasped the concept of the Eucharist Run, don’t walk, to the Lords supper… join his church!
Peace!
sometimes he knows more than me!Has he been fully catichised in what this all means? Usually that involves RCIA or PSR classes.
Get him confirmed. But he does believe everything. why can’t he recieve the bread of life?
Make an appointment to meet with the pastor or DRE, we provide transportation for folks that need it at my parish, yours may also.sometimes he knows more than me!
Like I said, (in not so many words) His dad (my brother) is just starting to get back to going to church and he really has no ambition to help out his son. (sad but true) And I am not in a position to get him to RCIA. He doesn’t have a license, and there are no Sunday classes after Mass, not that my brother would wait around for him for that long anyway.
It’s just sad that he has an incredible hunger for the bread of life and a desire to be Catholic but he has no way to get there.
Are we up to date enough to have on-line classes?
If he does believe everything, get him baptized (if needed) and confirmed into the Church. But he does believe everything. why can’t he recieve the bread of life?
