Ecclesial communities derived from the Reformation and separated from the Catholic Church, “have not preserved the proper reality of the Eucharistic mystery in its fullness, especially because of the absence of the sacrament of Holy Orders.” It is for this reason that, for the Catholic Church, Eucharistic intercommunion with these communities is not possible. However these ecclesial communities, “when they commemorate the Lord’s death and resurrection in the Holy Supper . . . profess that it signifies life in communion with Christ and await his coming in glory.”

If he believes in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist, which is made present by the priests through apostolic succession (only in the Catholic Church) then he should become Catholic!

By receiving Holy Communion in the Catholic Church, one is making a statement that he/she believes all the Church holds to be true and is in union with the Church.

God instituted sacraments as a sacred family bond.

You don’t have marital relations until you are married.

You don’t receive the Holy Eucharist until you are a full member of Christ’s Church.

Receiving the Eucharist states that you agree with all the teachings of the Catholic Church. Anyone who does not, such as non-Catholics, should not receive the Eucharist and if they do, they are receiving it in a sacreligious way incurring sins in doing so.

He’s working on it. He is a baptist from Georgia, my brother and I rescued him from there and brought him home but his father (my brother) has barely made a comeback to the CC. I don’t have the capacity to get him to weekly RCIT.

But he does believe everything. why can’t he recieve the bread of life?

I am at a loss when I here a non-catholic state they believe in the real presence in one breath and then state the fact that they are not catholic or will never be catholic.

If you have really grasped the concept of the Eucharist Run, don’t walk, to the Lords supper… join his church!

Peace! 👍

Has he been fully catichised in what this all means? Usually that involves RCIA or PSR classes.

sometimes he knows more than me!
Like I said, (in not so many words) His dad (my brother) is just starting to get back to going to church and he really has no ambition to help out his son. (sad but true) 😦 And I am not in a position to get him to RCIA. He doesn’t have a license, and there are no Sunday classes after Mass, not that my brother would wait around for him for that long anyway.
It’s just sad that he has an incredible hunger for the bread of life and a desire to be Catholic but he has no way to get there.

Are we up to date enough to have on-line classes? 😃

Make an appointment to meet with the pastor or DRE, we provide transportation for folks that need it at my parish, yours may also.

Thanks guys, I think God is calling me to step in and take the reins! (No matter how much I have on my plate.)

If he does believe everything, get him baptized (if needed) and confirmed into the Church.
