I am not sure of your background, but as a matter of research –
lexicons are very valuable rather than dictionaries. Dictionaries tend to be very biased, lexicons are less so.
If you are doing cross examination of dictionaries with scriptural texts, and the catechism, then I would also recommend doing so with the aid of perhaps some of the Latin ECF commentaries on the scriptures you are studying (Eg. Augustine, John Crysostom are very good with the psalms, and have Gospel commentaries.).
If you are doing a study which includes non-catholic bias – and are interested in different views, then Vines expository dictionary tends to be one that a plurality of denominations will accept.
