I’m looking for feedback and recommendations on getting a Masters Degree in Theology through distance learning. I’ve narrowed down to three which seem to Be a good fit: Augustine Institute, Catholic Distance University, and Franciscan Uni of Steubenville.

Anybody have experience or feedback on any of these school programs? Thanks!

Any of those three would be awesome.

A forth for your consideration would be Holy Apostles College.

God Bless

Thank you for mentioning Holy Apostles! They’re tuition is the lowest of the four; definitely worth consideration! I’m going to do some more research on them.

If it helps, take a look at their list of professors (full and adjunct).

They include:
  • Patrick Madrid (famous Catholic Apologist and host of the Patrick Madrid Show on Relevant Radio)
  • Trent Horn (from Catholic Answers)
  • Dr. George Popcak (famous Catholic Author, Psychotherapist, and radio host)
  • Fr. Tad Pacholczyk (President of the National Catholic Bioethics Center)
  • Joseph Pearce (who also works for the Augustine Institute, but currently doesn’t teach there)
  • Dr. Stacy Trasancos (Catholic Author, chemist & Fellow for Bishop Barron’s new Word on Fire Institute)

I agree that any of the 4 would be great. I would look at faculty, cost, and classes to see which best fits what you hope to gain from your study.

I know at least one faculty member at all 4 places. 😁

be sure to check out this one post I did a few months ago regarding grad schools for Theology

Catholic theology grad schools (in USA)? Catholic Living
NOTE: I would only recommend Notre Dame and Boston College for the doctorate degree. I personally don’t think they are worth the price for the Master’s level. Marquette University and University of Dayton are in the same boat. I would highly recommend the following * offer’s online Master’s First and foremost: I would recommend: The Catholic University of America* (Theology degree not offered online, but Masters of Catechesis is) Has Masters, Ph.D. STL, STD degrees Catholic Univers…
God Bless

Finally, University of Dallas has a good online program too, but I think it’s a little expensive.

God Bless you
