What one novel would you recommend for summer 2015 reading?

And what one movie you would recommend seeing?

(No, your choice doesn’t have to be a newly published novel or current movie.)
 
The Call of Cthulhu and Other Dark Tales by H.P. Lovecraft. This is actually a collection of Lovecraft’s short stories. Lovecraft was an atheist, and his work is a great illustration of how atheism concludes in an abolition of man.
 
Film - Little Boy. Hands down the best film of the year, and a must-see for all Catholics.
 
Book: “All The Light We Cannot See.” One of the best books I have ever read, will be talked about years from now, and on required reading lists in high school. (Seriously. It’s that good.)

Movie: “The Great Buck Howard.” If you’re digging the new season of America’s Got Talent, with Piff The Magic Dragon, and the upcoming new season of “Penn & Teller: Fool Us,” you gotta see this overlooked comedy about a traveling magician (played by John Malkovich.) Very very funny. And it’s PG. Not PG-13, but PG.
 
Book: The Ballad of the White Horse (novel-length ballad)
Movie: Fireproof
 
Movie; Babette’s Feast-It hasn’t faded with time.
Book: To Kill a Mockingbird-I re-read it every few years and appreciate something different each time.
