Oh yes of course. Peter denied Christ THREE times!! Jesus said forgive 70x7 times. We are all going to mess up. We are all sinners. However, we should strive to follow the commandments. Yes we will slip up. Then we ask God for forgiveness, and get right back up again and move forward. There’s a difference between people who sin and keep trying and ones who just do whatever they want anyway and don’t resolve to try to do better.
