What does a red sash mean to the Church or spirituality? Thanks, Tim

What kind of sash? Who is wearing it, how, and when? If you mean the stole worn by the priest or deacon, red is usually worn on the feast of a martyr (symbolizing that he shed his blood for Christ) or Pentecost (symbolizing the Holy Spirit).

The Red Sash of Merit is intended to serve as an award for a select number of outstanding Catholic Scouts in the
Diocese of Columbus, usually high school students. It should be awarded to a Scout who is very active in his
Troop, Community and Church. He should demonstrate strong leadership and accept responsibility well. The
Scout should have earned the Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblem.

I can’t imagine that the Diocese of Columbus acts in a vacuum, and therefore other Dioceses may have a similar program…

She “saw” someone? Was it a vision? Do you believe it to be connected with her death?

It was a instant “vision”. It was our last conversation we had together I can remember. Before I was born, she lost a son in an accident. My parents took a leap of faith to have me. I was telling her that, at 34, I was now there to tell her that God loves her for that “leap of faith”. I felt very inspired and that is when she said what she saw. Remembering this brings tears to my eyes. She died suddenly and unexpectingly of a heart infracture at home where I found her 3 days later. Grace abounded in our family during this time and I’m trying to discern the red sash she saw. Tim
