I have just come back from a liturgy group meeting at my Parish, where I had the opportunity of presenting Redemptionis Sacramentum. This was totally rejected, as according to my fellow parishioners it only has any any force when the local Bishop implements it after removing any instructions he does not agree with.
Am I going nuts but to me this instruction was given by the Congregation under the Popes authority. And maybe I have read this wrong but I see no paragraph where the Bishop can change this instruction to suit his Diocese.
Please correct me if i am wrong

Rome didn’t enforce Humanae Vitae. I doubt they will put any more effort into this. Their management style seems to be to suggest and caution, but let the rebel devise his own fate.

Fortunately the civil courts may rein in some of the worst offenders with the abuse prosecutions. It seems no accident that the worst offenders also seem to have the most cases pending.

Where is your pastor or administrator in all of this? It’s really not your job to be presenting this, nor is it up to a “liturgy group” to reject it.

Yes, RS does need to be implemented at all Roman Catholic parishes in the USA. If your pastor or administrator does not respond, write your bishop as RS directs you to do…

I believe that many Bishops are trying to implement both the GIRM and RS and are being opposed by pastors, religious, deacons, and laity alike. The problem is that they are trying to do this without communicating very well with their flock. There are many and I believe very many who would step up and help in whatever way the Bishop wants. There are many who would stand behind them if we just knew what they wanted us to do.

you are correct I think. I do think that over half he bishops in the USA are heretics to the worst degree and are the cause of much of this.

after going to the pastor .you go to the bishop if all this fails go to Cardinal arinze on the vatican commission on the sacraments and the liturgy his address is findable at the vatican website. I was told this by colin donovan ewtn after that you Pray hard. I have done that over some problems with adoration abuses. I have heard nothing but hope and pray that it will be reversed

This is a very serious charge. Please reconsider this statement. It is a best liabelous, and possibly sinful.

There has been communication between the US Bishops and Rome, but the Bishops’ suggestions were rejected. I have heard a few diocese are implimenting the instructions in Advent.

First speak to your Pastor, and just ask him about this. Then perhaps a call to the Bishop’s office, again just asking about implimentation of RS.

It won’t do any good to start writing letters before you have all the facts.

I was looking for other information when I came across this gem on the Catholic Bishops website:

usccb.org/liturgy/q&a/rsbishop.shtml

If you read it, notice the opening paragraph. Apparently they have been inundated with questions like yours.

May God Bless each of you and guide your steps.

The Papal Nuncio is next in line after the local Ordinary.
