Mathew Kelly"s book is being suggested for a large purchase at our parish. I am looking for those Orthodoz individuals who might have read this book and can give good feedback on it. Is it worth a large amount/purchase for a parish without funds to waist. I believe the purpose is education and evanelization. Can you make other recommendations, etc.

I found the book to be quite good.

As you probably know, the book is aimed at those who’ve fallen away from attending Mass; the approach is gentle persuasion rather than being harsh and pedantic.

I found the style to be quite good, and appropriate for its purpose. I gave a few copies to my parish, and they were well-received.

If you don’t mind my asking, how much per copy are you looking to pay? I would imagine that a large purchase should get you some quantity discounts, maybe down to a couple of dollars per copy.

I was told they would be bought for about five bucks a copy.

Matthew Kelly is a great Catholic author! He is as in-line with Rome as Scott Hahn, but writes in a much simpler way that even those in High School can understand what he is saying. I am in no way saying that he lacks content. I am saying he can take very complex subjects and explain them in a way that most people can understand.
