Refugee crisis: Why the Bible doesn't allow us to turn our backs on drowning children

There is a difference between “refugee” barbarians --referring to the Roman Empire, putting the “refugee” in quotations because of course they wouldn’t have been referred to as that in the 4th and 5th centuries and barbarian refugees – which makes it sound like I’m using the adjective “barbarian” to describe current refugees. I didn’t say that, and I wouldn’t say that. I am careful with my words, and I mean what I say–but I don’t mean what I didn’t say.

You just contradicted your own post. Because the whole point of your post WAS to describe the current situation.

But back to the OP. Why do you object to what the Bible and the Church in your moniker has to say about refugees? Do they have to check their religion at the door before entering supposedly secular Europe? If so, why?

Not at all. I was simply comparing two similar situations: The Roman Empire and the current situation in Europe. They’re similar because in both cases the refugees / immigrants were invited into the destination country; because in both cases the new migrants challenged the existing society’s laws, culture, religion, etc.; and because the sheer overwhelming numbers completely changed the character of the Roman Empire–and I believe they will completely change the character of Europe today.

I have not seen anyone make the comparison, which to me is obvious.

You can go beyond that: most of the barbarian leaders (including Attila) were educated in Rome and had lived in the Roman Empire before returning to their own people and leading them against Rome. Similarly, the terrorists (whether it’s the 19 hijackers on 9/11, Major Hasan Nadal, the Tsarnaev brothers, or any of the others) have not been shepherds from the deserts of Arabia. They have all been educated in the West and have lived in the West. I’m not afraid of the shepherds in the desert; I’m afraid of the engineers, doctors, and computer software engineers who live down the block.

In a sense, I think this mass migration of Muslims is a scourge from God. Eventually, in the decades to come, Muslims will form majorities in some areas of Western Europe. They will persecute the leftist/secularist societies of Europe that have embraced the massacre of the unborn, homosexual marriage, euthanasia, and other anti-life, anti-faith policies.

Good Christians will survive and fight back. The secularists will melt away. They will either be killed or convert to Islam, because they have no will to survive as a people. And, as they don’t reproduce in any noticeable numbers, secular people will vanish from Europe.

This is a blessing in disguise.

If you mean the part about the refugees checking their religion at the door, they won’t, and there’s no way to compel them to do so. Nor would it be a wise policy. The wise policy would be not allowing them to enter in the first place.

In post #9 I gave a bunch of links to what’s happening now–not in the future, now. Admitting all these refugees will just exacerbate the problem by several magnitudes.

First, if you’ve been reading the paper, every refugee interviewed says something like “When I get settled I’ll bring in my children/cousins/uncles/parents.” Second, now that it’s clear that there’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, millions (yes, millions) more will be encouraged to emigrate. I don’t care how organized the Germans are, they can’t cope with millions of refugees at once. Third, did you notice all the children with the refugees? Do you think they will stop having children in Germany, or will they have more children?

Let’s say for the sake of argument that Catholics go along with Francis and every parish in Europe takes care of two refugee families. I predict–mark your calendar–that within 6 months you will have organized protests of Muslims in Europe protesting the “attempted conversion” of the refugees by their hosts. They will accuse them of cultural imperialism, neocolonialism, and sexual impropriety. Some of the hosts will be found guilty of these behaviors…and then….

As I read more and more history, I saw that many, if not most, of the Romans did realize what was going on. They were sad and depressed. They saw no way of reversing the decline. Now I know how they felt since I am in their place.

Maybe they should follow our example of high civilization and sell the body parts of babies? Or sending drones to wipe out wedding parties? Or murdering unarmed blacks in the inner-city.

If we are still talking about your initial point Nial, refugee child drowning . He wasn’t leaving a war zone at all. He left that three years ago. He left nothing of the sort when this horrific action took place.

These Muslim refugees (I am referring to the ones of the Islamic faith) do not know what peace is. They are always warring and bring where ever they go protests, riots, plunders, screams, and rapes.

Forget about the Roman Empire. Lets look at something more recent, modern. Norway.

Over the past 5 years this country has taken in Middle Eastern Muslim refugees seeking asylum. How sweet. Well, shortly after, these Muslims started to wreak havoc within the country.

At least 90% of rapes for the past 5 years were committed by Muslim men.

These crazy Muslims that were let into the country terrorized the people with protests, threats that all must submit to their figure head, welfare, and the whole nine yards.

This year the Norwegian government started to crack down on Muslim radicals and had them deported. Articles are claiming crime rate dropped 30% afterwards. Google “Norway deports muslims” for more articles and witnesses.

Also, recently the Muslims had a demonstration/protest under the guise of “peace” in Norway. These people are forever making noise and cannot remain and be silent.
