Hi,

Can anyone recommend any sort of central site that has a refutation for the numerous anti-Jesuit claims made by various authors?

If there isn’t such a site, there should be. I know and subscribe to the maxims that the best defense is to simply ask them to prove their assertions and to site original sources, but if there was a site that poked holes in the works of Avro Manhattan or Chiniquy, it would make things easier (for me at least).

There are a number of authors, such as John Daniel and I.A. Sadler, that I just can’t find any info on. I realize that that is a bit of an answer in and of itself, but it would be nice to have a refutation clearinghouse that debunked their assertions and shed a little light on their backgrounds.

Thanks,

Eric

That would truly be a monumental site. The Jesuits stand accused of practically every evil that has ever been visited upon mankind, including Communism, Nazism, persecution of American Indians, and nearly everything else that American anti-Catholics find objectionable.

My own brother, EricFilmer (a regular participant in this forum) has recently been designated a forum moderator in an astronomy-based forum. He has moderated a surprising number of threads which claimed that we have never actually visited our moon.

I don’t know what specific claims you mean. There were wonderful things and evil things committed throughout history by members of almost any group you can imagine – even our Church. Slapping a label like ‘Jesuit’ or ‘Christian’ or ‘American’ on a person does not automatically make them good or evil. Perhaps that is a point you might want to make in your discussion?

Don’t forget that the Jesuits are the SUPPOSEDLY the “secret police” of the Vatican, and/or like CIA assassins and are sent into countries to ‘silence’ people who speak out against the Catholic church or who dare to ‘discover the truth’ about Catholics. The Jesuits, like ninjas… apparently, sneak into a country and assassinate people.

I wish I could find the site which said this… I think it was actually a person on Answers.yahoo.com’s religious section, if I remember correctly.

I had to laugh. Assassins? Sent to silence the truth? – hahahahahahha
They are mostly school teachers…hahahahahaha

I’m sure that you know the types of claims that I mean. Choose random nefarious event, claim the Jesuits were behind it, viola - instant conspiracy.

I certainly agree that someone being a Jesuit isn’t a guarantor of righteous behavior. Unfortunately for some, the opposite is true.

I agree. I guess the best way to approach it would be to create a site aggregator where it would be a collection of relevant articles from other sites. Creating something from whole cloth would be a full time job.

You mean the Jesuits DIDN’T sink the Titanic or shoot Lincoln?

As I pointed out in this thread, Jesuit computer workloads are so massive and intense (apparently from running all the world’s corporations, militaries, and governments) that they can crash cloud computing systems that are supposed to be crash-proof.

It would be up to them to substantiate their false, groundless claims.

No, I really haven’t encountered anything like that – not to say people don’t push conspiracy theories; I just haven’t encountered the Jesuit conspiracy.

That’s actually great. I hope you never do run into them.

For some anti-Catholics, the Jesuits are the monster under the bed. A catchall boogeyman that bolsters their hatred of Catholicism. They blame the Jesuits for everything from the assassination of Lincoln to putting Hitler in power.

Step 1) Take every disaster (both natural and man made), massacre, scandal, and corruption in human history.
Step 2) Blame the Jesuits.

Ta-da!

I am by no means exaggerating or engaging in hyperbole when I tell you that I actually ran into someone that blamed the Jesuits for teaching Mohammed and helping to create Islam.

They must have been time travelers.
