Regional variations of Baptismal rite

I was looking at an on-line american missal and saw that the Apostle’s Creed and Pater are said by all present. Yet when I consulted with my Portuguese hand missal it only mentions the priest and godparents. Is this a typo in my missal, or were there regional variations?
