I’ve been attending a TLM Parrish for six months and have never registered to be member of a church before. What are the benefits of being a member of a church vs. showing up as a non-member?
They’ll give you envelopes and give you a report of what you gave during the year for your taxes.
You’ll get other mailings and be on the list to ask to do ministries or other activities.
They’ll give you a letter if you are asked to be some kid’s godfather.
They won’t give you a hassle if you want to get married in the church.
And since this is a personal Latin Mass parish, they’ll bury you when you pass on. If you weren’t a known member of the parish, the responsibility would go to your territorial parish.
