This past week has been very confronting, emotional and spiritual. I am catholic bought up . Married in a Catholic Church to my darling husband of nearly 30 years .
My faith over the years dwindled as my husband was not religious. We have two amazing children now 27 and 23 neither baptised. My husband, I believe was baptised United Church.
Today we are confronted with my husband’s terminal cancer . We have 3 months. In confronting death he has totally embraced the catholic faith. Within days he has been welcomed into the Catholic Church through the receiving of sacraments which has shocked me and his children.
His adoration for Jesus and the Virgin Mary is amazing. I as a Catholic am trying to help him in his journey. I must say s very comforting one. But I have forgotten so much with the mass responses amd so forth. He is hungry for biblical knowledge and wants to be a part of the mass with responding correctly.
Is it disrespectful to attend mass and not know all responses. And than receive communion? What should I be asking our priest or explaining to him . I just feel my husbands faith is desperate and rush and I feel s little uncomfortable with that.
Any guidance is welcome thank you
