I was engaged to be married for over a year to a man whom I met through a Catholic website. Ostensibly, he was a good Catholic, a perfect gentleman, etc. However, every time it became time for us to set a date, something major would always go wrong. I prayed a lot, and kept asking God why this was happening to me repeatedly with this man. My fiance told me I was reading more into the delays than there was, that it wasn’t God intervening, but my own baggage because of my annulled, abusive marriage, etc. He insisted we go ahead, especially with financial arrangements, but I just couldn’t do it. For a long time, I blamed myself, then finally we broke it off because he disappeared from the radar for several weeks. Well, let me tell you, it ***was ***God intervening! I found out this man had an on-going relationship with another woman in another part of the country concurrent with our engagement and he was making wedding arrangements telling her he was coming in to some money “soon”. Was it my money? I will never know, but I can tell you it sends chills up my spine.
