Depends on the ages.

Don’t forget, one of the reasons for dating is to look for a spouse.

Obviously, this is more important for someone in 20’s-30’s than teens.

Is it all right for a Catholic to date a Morman?
It is also depends on how far you want it to go. Of course, as a Catholic you should be aware pre-marital sex must be avoided. The other concern is, are you ready for your partner’s demands should she ask you to convert to Mormonism? You must be able to stand your ground if you wish to remain in allegiance to the Church. Talk to her and understand her concerns also, so at least you do not lead her on a false hope. Just remember, it’s better to part on amicable terms than to have a bitter break-up if the two of you cannot agree on the things above.

Yes its fine, but if you plan on marrying, make sure the mormon converts to Catholicism 😉

Also, should the relationship progress and the Mormon decide to convert, you should both know the price they will pay. Likewise, should the Catholic convert, be ready to tell your family that they are not welcome at your wedding.

depends on what you mean by dating

if you mean relationship headed for courtship and marriage, one of you will have to abandon your faith because you will be unable to both hold strongly to your religious faith and practice and raise your children in both traditions as they are opposed. Both are religions where expression is based largely in home and family life and while they share some core family values, their doctrine and practice simply cannot be reconciled. One of you will have to apostosize or severely compromise the practice of your faith should you decide to marry and raise a family. For the Mormon, as for an Orthodox Jew, if their family is highly observant it will probably mean a complete break from their family, as neither could tolerate marriage to a Catholic.

It would seem inadvisable, creating dilemmas for the future. It puts your Catholic faith at potential risk that you may not see immediately.
Marriage needs agreement on fundamental issues and beliefs if it’s to be balanced and happy.

If it’s you who is considering this…I ask God to guide and protect you and help you to live as He wishes and to find the person He wishes, whoever this may be. 🙂
