Any Relevant Radio listeners out there? I don’t know why, but folks seem to disappear without any mention from this otherwise excellent and reliably orthodox catholic radio network.

Anybody know what happened to the ‘new’ CEO Dick Lyles?

Whatever happened to Sally Robb? (morning hasn’t been the same since).

Why’d they drop Catholic Answers Live?

How come they never tell us why they are shaking things up? Anybody got any of the above answers? Hope they are all OK.

Don’t know, the mornings changed a ton after Jeff Cavins left.

That’s just the way the radio business works. One day there, next day “they are no longer with us”. Nobody likes to talk beyond that, at least not “on the record”. It’s a very transitional line of work in constant flux.

I thought she moved to some other position within the corporation, but I could be wrong anout that.

Supposedly they really wanted to go their own way and self produce a lot. Perhaps they were looking for syndication deals that they could produce a profit off. You’ll notice that they’ve offed most other programming that would require bringing in someone else’s productions, also.
 
I listen when I can. It took a bit, but now I’m adjusted and like some of the new programing. Off the record, they haven’t always treated some of their personalities in a good way (as told to me by some of the former personalities on that station). Also, if you like a show, let them know and tell everyone you know to let them know. They have to go with what the audience is interested in. If there isn’t feedback, like with other radio stations, they’ll dump the program.

I wish they still had Al Kresta at nights as well as Catholic Answers Live at night. Same with the Popeceks (? on spelling) and the extended version of On Call with Dr. Ray and Dr. Colleen. However, I do enjoy listening to fathers and sons on the weekend and think that Chuck Neff does a good job on his daily show. I also enjoy listening to Hearing the Call monthly (yes, I know, I’m a woman, but I like hearing our future priests and what their calls to the priesthood were like).
 
I listen to it everyday. I miss Catholic Answers Live but am thankful Dr. Ray is still on - I just wonder for how long.

Hopefully they’ll keep Fr. Corapi forever.

I could do without the “Community of Faith” show.

I’m getting used to Chuck Neff - think he does a good job. I just want CA LIVE back!!!
 
I like Catholic Community of Faith (produced by the Archdiocese of Chicago).

Drew Mariani is way too arch-conservative to suit me. And Morning Air died when Jeff Cavins left. I really liked the old Catholic Family Radio line up better.

I gave up on our local relevant radio station a few months ago. No local news, weather that is three days old, the same recordings over and over. There are times when they go off the air for an hour at a time. No one answers the phone anymore. I now listen to EWTN by shortwave.😦
 
I am glad they changed a few things. It seemed that Mariani and Laugminas would have the same guests on talking about the same thing in the same week. They either needed one producer for both shows or they needed to co-ordinate better.

I enjoy most of the programming though I get tired of the pro-life stuff ALL the time. I don’t generally listen then b/c I am not ready to have to explain abortion to my 4 yo. If she hears the word enough times, she will ask.
