Interesting! The only (Relic) I have (“if you want to call it that”) is when Mother Teresa visited our archdiocese in the early 1980’s supporting a charitable Pro Life Catholic affiliation where its main based Canadian office was once located in our city.

Due to the overwhelming response and expectation of her arrival with Mother Teresa touring many cities in North America the event was held at our cities coliseum with various Christian denominations in attendance.

I was lucky enough to be sitting on the stage in a choir less than 20 feet where she sat to give her beautiful speech.

After she left the event I took it upon myself to take the name tag paper from her seat and kept it in my bible ever since. Is it a relic or just sentimental? To me its more symbolic than it is sentimental even though it is just a piece of paper with her name on it where she had sat…

Peace
Chris

I asked for one yesterday and I received a confirmation email that they received the email after I sent it. Then, I got an email form a Missionaries of Charity Sister telling me that they’ll send me one. By the way, thanks for sharing this! Mother Teresa is a very inspirational woman, and having a relic of her is great!

yes id say it is a relic…a first class relic is basically body or body parts like hair, blood, bones

second class relics is items they have used, worn or touched…like the name tag

third class relics is just like those bits of material on the back of medals and prayer cards thatthey touch to a first class or second class relic

Centurionguard- Wow! What an amazing and beautiful story. Did you get a chance to talk to Mother Teresa? I bet it was enough just hearing her beautiful speech.

I see that you’re from Canada I too am from Canada but in the Prairie province 😉

I think that is so wonderful that you kept Mother Teresa’s name tag.

As a child- to when Mother Teresa passed away ( I was 19) I always thought of her as St. Mother Teresa.

jcian12- I requested for a relic of Blessed Mother Teresa as well.
We are happy to send you a relic prayer card (the relic is a fragment of cloth that has been touched to Mother Teresa’s tomb in Kolkata and affixed to the prayer card that is laminated) as well as other devotional materials on Mother Teresa. These should be going out by the end of this week.
Please kindly keep us in your prayers and pray that the message of Mother Teresa through the work we are doing, may shine forth in the world of today, that “God still loves the world through you and through me today;” that the poorest of the poor, the unwanted, the lonely, the rejected and each one of us may know and experience how much God loves us personally.
God bless you and keep you in His Love.

So much Relic of Mother Teresa, for everyone who want that is impossibile.

I believe most of the relics that they offer for people are second class or third class. I don’t know what class relic they’ll give me, but they said a piece of cloth that was touched to Blessed Mother Teresa’s tomb.

The Missionaries of Charity have done a wonderful job explaining about the relics of Mother Teresa and about Mother Teresa.

In my post #5 I explain and quote an email that I received from Sr. M. Bethany, MC

Classes of Relics

1st Class Relic: a part of the Saint (bone, hair, etc.) and the instruments of Christ’s passion.

2nd Class Relic: something owned by the Saint or instruments of torture used against a martyr

3rd Class Relic: something that has been touched to a 1st or 2nd Class Relic. You can make your own 3rd Class relics by touching an object to a 1st or 2nd Class Relic, including the tomb of a Saint.

I add my thanks along with the others for your having posted on how to obtain a relic of Mother Teresa. I just bought a reliquary (object used to hold relics that are to be displayed) the other day and will place Mother Teresa’s relic in the reliquary when I receive it.

Thanks again and God bless! 😃

You’re very welcomed but than again I don’t deserve all the credit or any credit.

Please give your thanks to The Missionaries of Charity. Blessed Mother Teresa, Our Blessed Mother, and to Our Lord Jesus.

God bless,

I sure will!!!

God bless and have a blessed Holy Thursday 😃

God bless you as well I Pray that you and everyone here has a Most blessed and Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday.

I’m not too sure if this should go on another thread or not. However, on April.16th, 2011, Saturday- I requested a third class relic of St. Brother Andre. Now, I’m not too sure if it is a 2nd class relic or a 3rd class relic.

Yesterday, April.22nd, 2011, Thursday I received a letter from the St. Joseph’s Oratory with a pamphlet on a brief information on St. Brother Andre, a Holy/Religious prayer card of St. Brother Andre, and a relic which states it is “Particle of Cloth worn by Brother Andre, C.S.C.”

If you would like to request a relic please contact:

WOW…goforgoal… a relic of Brother Andre…that is wonderful. I say that news of his relic being available is sure fit for this thread. 😃

God bless you for posting about it yet again.

Have blessed Good Friday and please pray for my mom, she is getting the results for a biopsy she had done on her left lung today. :gopray:

Brother Andre is awesome! I requested one too, hopefully they’ll give me one. St. Andre Bessette is such an inspiring man! Thanks for sharing!

Another nice place to visit while going to Saint Joseph’s Oratory while in Mount Royal is Cathedral-Basilica Mary Queen of the World, Montreal
en Francais: Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde

Its a miniature of Saint Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Thank you so much for posting those infos about Bro. Andre and Father Casey’s relics!
I really didn’t know about them, I read their stories and they’re great.

Temple of the Soul- God bless you as well and I prayed that you had a blessed Good Friday as well. I just don’t want this thread to be all about myself and bragging on how I obtained a relic. However, I would like to share the good news with everyone.

It’s funny how St. Brother Andre has been showing up in my life around the beginning of this month a friend of mine named Brother Charles Gareau, s.g. (who happens to make beautiful Rosaries for $5.00 each) <–My sincere apologizes if it seems like I’m trying to promote or sell anything.

forums.catholic-questions.org/showthread.php?t=388770

Anyways, Brother Charles usually sends me a Catholic Magazine. This time he sent me a beautiful photo of him standing beside another beautiful painting of St. Brother Andre. That is the 1st photo

Also, this past month my mom received a letter of gratitude from the Discalced Carmelite Nuns of St. Joseph in Armstrong, B.C.

carmelspall.org

With a brief explanation of our new Canadian Saint (Of course and I’m sure all of you know that St. Brother Andre is not just a Saint for Canada but a Saint for us all) along with a Holy/Religious prayer card of St. Brother Andre.

And like I stated, on April.22nd/11/Thursday- Holy Thursday I was so honored and blessed to receive a Holy card, information, and a relic of St. Brother Andre. <–that is what the 2 photos are.

I will definitley keep your mom…everyone in my Prayers.

centurionguard-God bless you for sharing this information and what an outstanding picture. Have you visited or attended Mass at both places?

Blue Eyes- God bless you for posting about Ven. Fr. Solanus Casey. I’ve been to that website a few times for prayer intentions and ask for Ven. Fr. Solanus Casey’s intercession.

spiritualunity- You’re very welcome although I don’t deserve all or any credit be thankful always to all of the Saints, Blessedes, Venerables, and Servant of Gods, as well as Our Blessed Mother, and Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Does anyone know if you can request a third class relic of Pope John Paul II?
