What is the proper way to honor saintly relics?

this is actually rather urgent, so if anyone could help…

For one thing you don’t worship them as they were a God. They are more like personal momentos of in this case a very holy person.

I have a prayer card w/ a piece of Padre Pio’s habit in the bottom that Padre Pio himself gave to my grandpa’s uncle. I have it in a picture frame with a modern holy card next to it with Padre Pio’s name on it (because you can’t really read the old holy card any more). It’s hanging on the wall in my room. Nothing special

What is the proper way to honor saintly relics?

I have my accumulation of relics tucked away… I have 2 or 3 out in my “reading/prayer” room laying at the foot of a statue of Christ.

I don’t think they should be on display like baseball cards etc.

What type of relic?

I keep oil of St. Gabriel Possentiat the foot of my Infant of Prague statue.

My third class relics of St. Therese and St. Padrio Pio are tucked in my Bible.
