Someone I know got an e-mail that had a beautiful image of Our Lady of Guadalupe and it told him to send it to 20 people. It claimed the letter was sacred and miraculous and bad stuff would happen if he did not comply. I think using Our Blessed Mother for this stuff is blasphemy and a waste of time. Does anyone share my feelings? Or does anyone believe in this stuff?

I certainly don’t believe in it, and to do as the chain letter says would be condoning spam.

Regarding the ill/adverse effects of not sending it, yes, it’s blasphemous. Mother Mary does not demand that we do anything but live our Catholic faith. She doesn’t even demand that we pray the Rosary…

I send all such spam directly to the junk mail with no qualms at all!

I certainly do share your feelings.

This is superstitious nonsense and should be deleted as soon as one gets it.

if it is sent through the mail and contains instructions to send money or threats of harm for those who do not continue the chain it is in violation of US Postal Regulations and depending on content the penalties can be severe. From the Catholic point of view it is certainly superstition and of no spiritual value whatever.

I delete all such emails as they are intrinsically evil in my view.
I don’t understand why someone strong in their faith would be nervous about deleting them.

As a postal worker, I can assure you that using the mails for such a letter is a violation of the law.

The e-mail version, like the postal version, is blasphemy, pure and simple. Don’t bother wasting time on it. Use the time for another prayer or two to Mary for the Holy Souls in Purgatory.
