How’s the religious education in eastern parishes? Is it better than in roman catholic ones? because in some roman parishes it is not good. Kids play all day and never learn anything about Jesus or His Church. Teens and adults learn the basics but never really deepen their knowledge. Do you face these problems as well?

God bless

Anglicans are not part of Eastern Catholicism as the Anglican Ordinariate is under the Roman Church

But to answer your question, its not just merely baptism but your canonical enrollment. I don’t know how exactly it will be done since all under the Roman Church. But the dad or mom has to be Anglican in the past. You can’t be a life long RC and then have your son be baptized and canonically Anglican just so you can circumvent the RC discipline on celibate priests.

It depends entirely on the parish. You can get everything from no catechesis to an exceptional program. On average, you’re more likely to encounter parishes with little to no programs when compared to Roman Catholics who almost universally have something formal in place. Most will have something. A problem faced more often in the east than the west is that younger generations stop attending once they move out, leaving an aging population and dying parishes in some places. Many of the younger people go to the Roman Catholic churches that have programs for their children, speak English, and are closer to get to.
