God’s blessings to all!!

Let me give a brief description of what I am going through…the company that I work for is relocating me and my family to Colorado from Missouri. Currently we are trying to sell our house in St. Louis. The company wants me to be in Denver on the 2nd of April, however, our oldest will not be finished with school until the end of May. My wife stays at home with our other 2 children and will remain in St. Louis until our son is out of school.

Herein lies my problem…I need to find a place to lay my head at night on a temporary basis. Since I work and my wife stays at home, we do not have a lot left over at the end of the month, therefore, we cannot afford a mortgage and to pay a lot for my few months that I am in Colorado. We are going to buy or rent in Colorado once our house has sold, but are not in a position to do that right now.

I wanted to see if anyone knew of anyone in the Denver area (my work is in Littleton off of I-25) that could help out. I prayerfully thank you in advance for your help.

If you need any more details, I would be more than happy to provide those for you, just contact me.

Thanks and God Bless!

I have a suggestion- find a Catholic Church near where you will be working. Ask the Parish office if there are any people who have a room to rent on a temp basis OR if there are any people who have a house that needs sitting etc…

One thing you might want to consider is going ahead and moving with your whole family in April. Schools know how to handle this; it’s not that unusual. Also, one advantage is that it will give your son the chance to meet some kids before summer starts. It’s also kind of nice when you make a big move to have “new kid status”. When you show up in the middle of the year, everyone, teachers and students, tend to go out of their way to make you welcome. When you are a new kid at the beginning of the school year, you tend to get overlooked and it is a little more difficult to make friends. That’s just my experience, having been a Navy kid moving around every couple of years, as well as making some cross country moves with my own kids. I know it sounds like it would be less hectic to pull him out of school before the end of the year, but it might actually be less hectic than having your family living in two different states.

Even if you do go ahead and make the move ahead of the rest of your family, your company really should cover your temporary living arrangements in Denver. I would ask your HR department. That would be considered normal and customary in a situation where they are asking you to relocate.
