I really want to pray the DM chalet starting tomorrow and ending 9 days later.

My problem with novenas is that I always forget I am praying one and so it can take me a couple of weeks to get through one 😳

I have two jobs, so my schedule varies wildly from day to day.

Any hints?

That’s the problem with my schedule: I don’t have any regular time that I can do something every day.

I don’t like to do it right before I go to sleep as it wakes me up, iyswim.

There isn’t anything wrong with that. The purpose of a novena is to develop a habit of prayer and perhaps grow in devotion to a saint or a virtue. Keep your focus on that. There is satisfaction in completing a novena so you have that to look forward to but I don’t think that’s the most important thing.

I had the exact same problem, but was/is due to memory problems. So somewhere I came across a site called Pray More Novenas and I signed up. Each day the novena prayer for that day is emailed to me - voila! - no need to worry about forgetting to pray, where in the novena I was up to etc.

Can you put a post it note on your kettle (or some other place you see each day)? this reminds me. I also have a white board on my bedroom door and write things on there to remember (I do have chronic memory issues though)
Also ask your guardian angel to remind you. But then when he reminds you, dont think… later later 😉

Yes, if alarms on a device aren’t helpful because of the irregularity of your schedule then use strategically-placed paper notes or other tangible media to remind you. They can’t be muted, and the only way to dismiss them is for you to physically remove them.

Do you have a calendar on your phone? Make a note. Traditionally, the Divine Mercy chaplet gets prayed at 3:00, although you can do it whenever you have the opportunity.

If you have a day planner, or a to-do list, you can write it down there instead.

If you have a paper calendar on your wall, you can write it down for each of the necessary squares… N1, N2, N3…

Some people will put post-it notes on their bathroom mirror, so they get reminded first thing in the morning when they brush their teeth. Put it in your pocket, and put it back on the mirror when you’ve done it. Or wake up 10 minutes early, and use the extra time to do your chaplet first thing.

And if you go all day without doing it… then make sure you do it before you go to bed, even if it’s not your preferred time. 🙂

I like all the ideas given already. I signed up for the email reminders. I rarely miss checking my email and use it to get the daily readings too.

DM was put to melody. There is a CD and it is on YouTube with words. The version I like is https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&sour...BMAJ6BAgEEAw&usg=AOvVaw3bSzhaEMTX4XcnXYeWtdUu

After I learned the melody, I found I could pray it throughout the day as I love to sing, even silently, when others are around.

Our priest at mass last night invited us to pray the DM novena. I will pray for you during this time, including that we both remember to pray our novenas daily. ☺️
