The Hail Mary is not one of the prayers that is a part of the Mass so a Methodist (or anyone else) wouldn’t say it.

the Hail Mary is not one of the liturgical prayers of the Mass. for that matter any non-Catholic guest at Mass is not expected to say any of the prayers or responses or do any of the actions, kneeling etc. but simply to observe in reverence and join in whatever prayers or songs seem comfortable to them.

The Hail Mary is said on occasions. The Magnificat is recited every Saturday Vigil and Sunday Mass at our parish. Some parishes have returned to reciting the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. So you may hear things that make you feel uncomfortable. Just know that we do not worship these Saints or Angels. We love them like family, elevated family. We seek their intercession…that is to pray for us in addition to our prayer to God. We should pray to the Father in Jesus name. It’s the appropriate way. We ask Mary and other Saints to pray on our behalf…make our prayers …petitions better to be presented to God for our sake.
Just don’t recite it if you’re uncomfortable with it.
