I’ve never heard of baptism refused. There are times when, according to the law and to charity, baptism must be delayed.
We read these articles with American or Canadian eyes, not through the lens of Pipe Francis. Pope has experienced different cultures, and it seems that there have been some very unkind church people in his experience.
Heck, I remember early in his pontificate where he said some words about parish secretaries that made me cry, really hurt me. I had to back up and remember he speaks from a far different culture.
This article will cause the expected cries that the Pope said no baptismal prep anymore!!! That is not the message here.
