Requirement for receiving 1st communion

My daughter was baptised as an infant but never received 1st communion (my fault). Is she required to attend RCIA in order to receive? She is air force and doesn’t know how long she will be in one place.

She should contact the Catholic Chaplain at her base. He will probably have encountered this problem many times and will know how it is handles locally.

Since she is no longer a child, she should be Confirmed before receiving Communion - usually in the same ceremony.

Church law requires that she be properly instructed preparatory to receiving either sacrament. What constitutes proper instruction varies with diocese and parish.
